Information that is confidential will be used only for the purpose of conducting an academic integrity review of a candidate's record and that information may not be used by the candidate or her/his supervisors to make decisions at the employee's job for the duration of her/his employment with the College of Engineering. The College of Engineering will retain some level of access to the information upon the conclusion of the review process: a report which contains information that is not confidential as outlined above, and a report on progress made with the candidate during the academic integrity review process. The College of Engineering is committed to academic honesty and compliance with appropriate policies and principles. This policy is designed to ensure that decisions based on information gathered during the integrity review process are based on valid information without regard to any personal or confidential information about applicants, employees, and/or applicants' family members. Information requested must be kept confidential from: other College students or employees; the applicant during the integrity review process, unless disclosure is necessary to the performance of duties as a College employee, or required to make a decision on an application within the College of Engineering. The following procedures will be followed to provide timely completion of the integrity review: Upon written request by the applicant, all confidential information which relates to the applicant may be provided to the integrity review panel, as well as that to the candidate's supervisor. In either case, the confidentiality of the information must be maintained unless the applicant requests a specific exception. Applicants should not sign any contracts or other agreement which indicates their consent to release confidential information. Applicants are encouraged to review all confidentiality agreements, including those with coworkers; supervisors; hiring or non-hiring managers; others. Applicants are required to sign such agreements on request. Applicants have the right to request that an integrity review report be provided to a co-workers during the review process so that the co-workers and their supervisors may review the reported information together. If the panel determines that information to be provided to the applicant is confidential, she/he may request the panel to make those portions of the report confidential by submitting a written statement to the integrity review committee. In either case, the integrity review committee or the co-workers may view confidential information if it is reasonably necessary to make a decision in the course of the integrity review process. If the integrity review panel determines any portion of the confidential information to be not confidential, the information must be submitted in a confidential manner.
